Wee dram...


There would have been many a whisky drank on Sunday night toasting our bard Robert Burns - and where better to drink it than Scotland where you are spoilt for choice for both malt and blended varieties. The pic above is from a wee speciallist shop in Ayr  'Robbie's Whisky Merchants'

BTW...you probably already know this but Scotland is the only place in the world where whisky is made everywhere else make whiskey,

  1. What a poor stock!!! You can find a much wider selection on any large French supermarket shelves!!! No I didn't realise that... Have not drunk Whisky or Whiskey, probably the latter, since I was 17 and was sick for 3 days after an over consumption! My stomach still turns if I smell the stuff.... Col

    Pauline et moi would like the bottle of Springbank, please!
    And I think I can see some single-casks to the right of the Scallywag...
    they are always worth a try!
    And, which Old Pultney is that?
    Ours here is the same bottle...
    but a black seal round the cork...
    and is in a beige tube, not that sky-blue colour!!

    Oh, and the Welsh, the Cornish and the Bretons make WHISKY, too...
    they would hate to hear it called WHISKEY!!
    That's for Japs, the Oirish and the Yanks!
